Price-wise, Wightman was a little LESS than the three other companies I got quotes from (Border, Okanagan Heating and A/C, and Blair Mechanical). It was nice to have this level of service and not have to pay a premium for it.

As for the install, once again it was a breeze. Their installation technician (also named Bruce) and his apprentice were right on time, and did the entire install, both the furnace and the A/C, in a single day. All other companies were quoting two days for an install.

Wightman Mechanical replace my A/C's 2 capacitors and the master trigger switch on the A/C unit at a very reasonable price. On top they told me that this A/C unit is a 'Work Horse" unit and would last another 25 year no problem and they did not even try to sell us a new one. Great job, thanks AR Dyck.

When it came time to decide things like the location of the exhaust/intake ports for the furnace, they hit a snag. The three of us talked it out, and they spent extra time and effort so that the ports were located in a more aesthetically pleasing spot on the outside of my house. They could have gone the easy route, done it quicker, and placed it in a not so ideal spot, but they consulted me first and were enthusiastic to do it the way I preferred.

I spent two weeks researching HVAC companies in town, and had four companies come by to give me quotes and give me their opinion. Most major HVAC equipment brands are the same in terms of reliability, so the quality and life of your system is really dependent on the company you choose to do the install. With no shortage of companies to choose from in the Okanagan, this whole process of trying to figure out who to choose was real tough. This was one of the largest purchases I've made for my home, and the thought of choosing the wrong company was nerve-racking.

Wightman recently installed a new gas furnace and A/C unit in my home, and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience.

My existing furnace was a gas Lennox brand, which was 36 years old (and still going! I replaced my whole system because my Carrier heat pump died and it was just time to do the whole system), so I was happy to learn that Wightman installs Lennox furnaces and A/C as well.

Luckily, Wightman made my job easy by being thorough, friendly, and upfront about everything. Bruce, their fantastic sales wizard, came by and spent an hour with me, measuring for fitment, discussing intake and exhaust locations, and going over each component in detail. He arrived for his appointment on the dot! He did not try to upsell me on anything, and he also did not just present a "package" system for both my A/C and furnace. Together, we put it all together piece by piece so I got exactly what I needed.

After the install, they took me on a tour of the systems, explained some HVAC tips and tricks, and cleaned up their work areas to better than it was before.

Wightman Mechanical showed up promptly when we needed them to clarify an HVAC issue in order for an offer to purchase to proceed. The technician Bruce went above and beyond to call the Buyers personally and insure that our transaction could go through. Would highly recommend this company.

Another thing that stood out: Bruce and his apprentice genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. They were very friendly and personable, and despite having to work in a 29 degree house all day, they never dropped their professional demeanor.

Stay away. Such terrible service, by multiple servicemen/plumbers over the last year for our home build. Literally everything we've paid them for, has had to be redone. One major incidence being our Navien system that was installed incorrectly, and leaking carbon monoxide into it family home. THAT WE WERE LIVING IN. They also installed our mini split system and did a terrible job. When we were about to move in and noticed it wasn't flushed with the ceiling and therefore not going to work properly, we called and asked for them to come out and repair. when I called to follow up as I haven't heard from anyone, the receptionist was unprofessional and rude, and said" yeah, the installer said he installed them as best as he could...it wouldn't go more flush than that". Umm, no one felt like telling us that before we had drywall and painting done? Before they proceeded to install the other 4 units around the house? Now we're left with expensive units that won't work, and a company that won't fix their mistake or return a call. There's been other issues with everything else they've installed, that were costly to repair. Should have trusted the google reviews. So disappointing. Honestly, just stay away.

In summary, these guys are pros, the real deal. Wightman has been in the Okanagan for over 50 years, and you can tell they know their stuff. Other companies blow their budgets on advertising and fleets of trucks, but Wightman's humble and human approach to everything was truly refreshing. A++
